From High-Pressure Seasons to Slow Innovations: What I Found This Month Away

It is officially the peak of spring and summer here in the UK. The days are beautifully stretched, the light is golden, and the air carries that specific, gentle warmth that makes you want to pause and breathe a little deeper.

For the past month, I have been quiet on this space. I stepped away from the daily routine, packed my bags, and went on a journey to find new, soul soothing botanicals that align with everything Still Storm stands for. Returning home to this gorgeous weather, I feel a profound shift. The lingering stress and heavy pressure I carried for months have completely dissolved. In their place is a new, gentler rhythm and a renewed, peaceful sense of productivity.

But to understand why this month away was so necessary, I have to take you back to a version of myself that didn’t know how to slow down.

The Cost of the Hustle: When My Body Clicked Mute

Before founding Still Storm, my career was defined by a completely different pace. I used to work in live news broadcasting, a world where stress builds like a tidal wave from the first pitch of a project until the final countdown on air. There was no concept of a natural biological clock or body rhythm.

Every successful project followed the exact same punishing cycle:

  • Intense pressure and high adrenaline
  • Fighting through physical warning signs
  • Peak exhaustion and a total collapse the moment the cameras stopped rolling

I pushed my body to its absolute limits, until one day, it pushed back. During a major live broadcast, right as the show was nearing its end, the world around me suddenly went silent. I suffered from sudden sensorineural hearing loss in both ears. The panic of being in a high stakes live environment while completely unable to hear anything is a feeling I will never forget.

That moment was a terrifying wake up call. It was the catalyst that eventually led to Still Storm, a brand built on the absolute necessity of emotional self reconciliation and physical healing. This recent trip was not just about work. It was a conscious choice to practice what I preach, to embrace relaxation, and to open myself up to the unexpected discoveries that only happen when you stop rushing.

Bringing Back an Old Favorite: The Truth About Our Wild Black Goji Berries

One of the main missions of this trip was addressing something many of you have been asking about: our Wild Black Goji Berries, which have been out of stock for quite some time.

Sustainably harvested local farm black goji berries

I refuse to compromise on quality. Last year, the farm we traditionally worked with faced highly unstable yields, and rather than sourcing inferior alternatives, we chose to wait. Black Goji is incredibly precious to me because of its unique nutritional profile.

Why Black Goji Matters

It is nature’s richest source of oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). These are powerful antioxidants that combat oxidative stress, support skin vitality, and protect the nervous system from the damage of modern chronic stress. It fits perfectly into our philosophy of food as medicine.

During this journey, I personally connected with several alternative sustainable farms. True to our core values, StillStorm passionately supports local agriculture and natural foraging. However, I also believe in using modern science to honor nature. I have collected batches from these newly discovered farms and sent them all to the laboratory for rigorous testing. We are verifying their exact nutritional potency and, above all, their absolute safety. Your well being is always our non negotiable priority.

A New Discovery from the Highlands: Red Snow Tea

Beyond restoring our current line, the slow pace of this journey allowed me to discover something entirely new. High up in the pristine, high altitude mountains, I encountered a rare botanical known locally as Red Snow Tea (Hong Xue Cha).

Grown in extreme, unpolluted environments, this beautiful wild plant has been brewed by mountain locals for generations as a daily wellness drink.

The Flavor It brews into a stunning, vibrant hue with a wonderfully clean, light, and delicate flavor profile.
The Benefit Traditionally, it is cherished for its cooling properties, helping to clear the mind and soothe inner heat.

I have officially added Red Snow Tea to our curated shortlist. Right now, we are in the process of fine tuning the flavor palate while simultaneously conducting quantitative laboratory analyses to study its bio active properties. My hope is to expand our StillStorm collection with more clean, intentional options that help you build your own daily sanctuary.

A Gentler Way Forward

This trip reminded me that productivity doesn’t have to look like a live newsroom. It does not require us to break our bodies to create something beautiful. True productivity blooms when we are grounded, aligned, and rested.

I am so incredibly excited to share these updates, these new flavors, and this calmer energy with you in the coming weeks. Thank you for being a part of this journey, and for allowing StillStorm to grow at the speed of nature.

With warmth and gratitude,
Fan
